Before this goes live
This has been written to match what the service actually does, but it has not
been reviewed by a lawyer. Maryland and federal rules on money services,
prepaid access and consumer refunds may require changes or additions —
particularly around whether this business is a money transmitter. Please have
a Maryland attorney read it before relying on it.
What this covers
This explains what Digital Bloomco LLC collects about you, why, who else sees it,
and what you can ask us to do about it. It applies to digitalbloomco.us and
load.digitalbloomco.us.
What we collect, and why
When you open an account
- Email address — to sign you in, send order confirmations, and
confirm the account is yours.
- Name — so we know who we are dealing with, and for receipts.
- Date of birth — to confirm you are eighteen or over. We do not use
it for anything else, apart from saying happy birthday.
- Phone number — to reach you about an order, and because payment and
top-up providers ask for it.
- Country and city — to price and route orders correctly, and because
we are required to know roughly where our customers are.
- Username — public in the sense that it forms your referral link.
- Password — stored as a one-way hash. We cannot read it, and neither
can anybody who obtains our database.
When you use the site
- Orders — what you bought, for how much, and for a top-up, the
number it went to. We keep these because we have to be able to account for
money that moved.
- Sign-in records — so you stay signed in, and so we can spot
somebody else getting in.
- IP address — briefly, to rate-limit abuse.
If you choose to
- A profile picture — resized and stored on our server. Only you see
it.
- Identity documents, if we ask you to confirm who you are. See
below.
What we do not collect
We never see your full card number. Card details go straight to the payment
provider and never reach us. We do not track you across other websites, we do
not sell your information to anybody, and we do not use it to build an
advertising profile.
Identity documents
These are treated differently.
If we ask you to confirm your identity, any document you send is stored where
it cannot be reached from the public web, is seen only by the people who have
to review it, and is not used for anything else. Once a decision is made we
keep the decision and its date, and delete the document itself as soon as the
law allows us to.
Who else sees your information
Only where it is needed to complete what you asked for:
- Payment providers (PayPal, and our card processor) — enough to take
the payment.
- Our top-up supplier — the phone number and the product, so the
credit reaches the right place.
- Our email provider — your address, to deliver the message.
- Law enforcement or regulators — if we are legally required, and
only what is required.
Each of these gets the minimum needed. None of them gets your information
to use for their own purposes.
Where it is kept, and for how long
Our servers are in the United States and Europe. We keep:
- Order records — for as long as tax and financial rules require,
which is generally several years. This is why closing an account does not
erase the orders.
- Account details — while the account is open.
- Sign-in records — a short period, then discarded.
- Accounts that never confirm their email — deleted entirely after
twenty-four hours.
Closing your account
You can close your account from your profile. It is scheduled for fourteen
days, and signing in again cancels it — a mis-tap should not be final.
On the day it closes we remove your name, phone number, city, picture and
any identity documents, and replace your email address with a meaningless
placeholder. What remains is the financial record of orders, without anything
that identifies you, because we are required to keep it.
What you can ask for
Whatever rules apply where you live, we will:
- tell you what we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong — most of it you can edit yourself
- delete what we are not required to keep
- send you a copy of your information
Write to [email protected]. We may ask you to confirm
who you are first, because handing somebody else's data to the wrong person
would be worse than being slow.
Keeping it safe
Traffic to this site is encrypted. Passwords are hashed and cannot be
recovered. Two-factor authentication is available to everyone and required for
administrative accounts. Backup codes are hashed too. Access to customer data
is limited to the people who run the business.
No system is perfect. If something happens that affects you, we will tell
you, and we will tell you what we know rather than waiting until we know
everything.
Cookies
We use one cookie, to keep you signed in. There are no advertising cookies
and no third-party trackers.
Children
This service is not for anybody under eighteen and we do not knowingly
collect their information. If we learn that we have, we delete it.
Changes
If we change this, the date at the top changes with it, and we will tell
you about anything significant.
